Today we have a creamy smoothie recipe from Asha Noel-Hart, a Certified Culinary Nutrition Expert. Asha loves to be creative in the kitchen making simple, sustainable, family foods infused with yummy Caribbean flavours. Her M.O. is to create from scratch, using fresh ingredients.
Says Asha, "This smoothie is a delicious way to kickstart your morning or re-boot in the middle of the afternoon. Who doesn't love a chocolate smoothie, especially one packed with the nutritional goodness of Moringa?"
We love that she's kicked it up a notch with an optional dash of cayenne pepper. If you haven't tried cayenne with your chocolate, now's your chance.
Asha loves to share her knowledge, skills, passion and food with others. Her website www.pepperpluslime.com is underway. Check it out, and be inspired by Asha's mantra - "Learn, Cook, Eat, Share, Heal, Smile".
Here's Asha's inspired smoothie recipe (serves 1):
1 generous handful fresh organic spinach
1/3 cup oats, gluten-free if desired
1/2 ripe banana
1 tsp SuperLeaf™ Moringa powder
2 Tbsp cacao powder
1-2 tsp of your favourite natural sweetener (stevia, honey, maple syrup, coconut palm sugar)

dash cayenne pepper (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy!
