Same Organic Moringa Seed Oil, New Package

You may have noticed in the shop that our Moringa Skin Food look is changing. We’ve given the package of our botanical beauty oil a makeover, for a number of reasons.

  1. It was high time we matched up the Moringa Skin Food bottle with the SuperLeaf brand, so people know when they see it on beauty shelves that it’s from the same people who offer Canada’s best Moringa leaf powder.
  2. We wanted to draw attention to the main reasons people love our Moringa oil: namely, the amazing scent, the pure and natural ingredients, and light, fast-absorbing texture.
  3. Our old label gave the ingredient names in Latin! Yes, it’s true. Anyone reading the ingredient list who didn’t study ancient languages would have no idea that the indecipherable words spelled out five pure, natural, botanical ingredients.
  4. It’s 98% organic, but we hadn't even mentioned it on the label. Close to 100% is a big deal in the beauty sector, where making a reasonably-priced organic product is tough.
  5. Skin Food is 70% Moringa oil, which is important to know when you’re choosing between options. Many people look to Moringa oil for its healing properties. They use it for relief from acne, psoriasis, eczema, and more. Those customers need to know that Skin Food delivers the anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial properties they need, plus the complementary antioxidant properties of the fruit oils and aloe vera.

More on that Irresistible Scent

Lemon Oil in Skin Food

You’ll notice that slapped right on the front we’ve said, “The only Moringa oil with an irresistible scent”. And it’s true. 100% Moringa oil has a slightly nutty smell, which is nice on a salad, but not necessarily the scent you want trailing your person.

By adding cold-pressed organic fruit oils, we’ve solved the issue. When people rave about Skin Food, they invariably talk about the bright, refreshing scent. It gives your mood a little lift each time.

Now, the Body Shop’s line of Moringa skin products may smell nice - we’ve never actually tried them - but you need to know that those products are not natural. Not even remotely. Just check out the long lists of synthetic ingredients. Not what you want soaking into your bloodstream, right?

Usually, you have to make a tradeoff when shopping natural. You have to give up something you love, like foaming agents in your shampoo, or water-resistance in your mascara, or scent in your skincare. With Skin Food, you can have everything you want in a beauty oil, without the nasty additives.

How We Make It

Moringa Seeds

The Moringa oil (again, 70% of the total product) comes from the seeds of the trees grown at our supplier’s farm in Nicaragua. If you haven’t yet read about our amazing Moringa farmer, you need to hear that story, because it will help you understand how SuperLeaf Moringa products are grown and prepared under the highest standards of purity and sustainability.

The oil is then blended and bottled in San Antonio, Texas, by our partners at Global Light Network, purveyors of natural products. Global Light mixes in the cold-pressed organic oils and aloe vera - their own formula developed through research into essential oils and skin care.

We may be biased, but we think Skin Food is the best-kept secret in natural skincare.

Try it yourself and let us know if you agree! (New packaging on virtual shelves December 2016!)
